Originally from Ohio, Matthew comes from a family of restaurateurs and chefs. His formal education was at the Culinary Institute of America
Matthew worked under Chef Jean Robert DeCavel at Le Maisonette. He then moved to Charlotte and run the kitchens of upscale restaurants such as Toscana, Luce and Ruth’s Chris Steak House.
Matthew joined the Four Seasons to oversee their Steakhouse “140” in Hawaii. He relocated to Denver to be the Executive Sous Chef of the Denver Marriott City Center, where he launched the Greatroom concept of “Prospect’s Urban Kitchen and Bar” to rave reviews.
Since joining The Vinoy team in May of 2017, Matthew has been instrumental in driving results in Culinary and played a critical role in the opening of Paul’s Landing.
When not in the kitchen, Matthew enjoys traveling with his wife Lena and exploring the outdoors.
